Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Sarkodie will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in training.
Sarkodie sustained the serious injury in training ahead of the MTN FA Cup round of 16 clash against Asokwa Deportivo.
He missed the game in which the Porcupine Warriors won 2-1 thanks to first-half goals by Evans Adomako and Fabio Gama.
And he won’t play against this season, according to head coach Mariano Barreto.
Sarkodie, unfortunately, will be out for the rest of the season”, Mariano Barreto told asantekotoko.com ahead of Sunday’s clash with Bechem United.
“He is out with a knee injury which occurred here in training and the doctors are working to ascertain the degree of it. But, what is assured is that he will not play any more part this season.”
The 25-year-old has made 11 appearances and been involved in four goals, scoring two and assisting the same number, since he joined Kotoko in March.
