The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the President of Ghana, Nana Adoo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will join the former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to watch the game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold Football Club.

The game will be played on 6th January 2019 to honour the former president as his 80th birthday gift.
Initially, Kotoko and Hearts of Oak were the teams selected to play the game after but Ashanti Gold replaced Hearts of Oak after Hearts made huge demands from the organizers of the game.

Kufuor, who served as the Chairman of Kotoko from 1988 to 1991 has tipped Kotoko to win the game, however, the CEO of Ash Gold, Dr Kwaku ‘Champion’ Frimpong has told the former President not to cry when his side beat Kotoko.
