The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has showered praises on formal President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Otumfuo showered the praises on the former President when the organizers of the JA Kufuor Cup went to the Manhyia Palace to invite him to the match.
Opemsuo was happy that a football match will be played to honour Kufuor on his ‘80th birthday’ as ‘he has done a lot’ for Ghana.
‘Apart from his good works, he also sacrificed himself for Ghana.’
Since he left office, ’he’s still working for Ghana and Asanteman’.
He added, ‘if something like this is being organized to honour him then we must all support it’.
He praised the JA Kufuor Foundation and the organizers game to honour the illustrious son of Ghana.
‘After the game, they should organize another one between Hearts and Kotoko’, he said.
‘I will invite Kuffour and Kwamina to watch the game with Ato [Ahwoi] who is a Hearts fan to watch the game together’, he said jokingly.
The Asantehene also talked about Kufour’s time as the Chairman of Asante Kotoko and said he deserved to be honoured.
The JA Kufuor Cup will be played between Kotoko and Obuasi Ashanti Gold at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Opemsuo has been given an invitation to the match as both teams belong to him.
