The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has resolved the longstanding Dagbon dispute between the Abudus and Andanis.
The Asantehene and two other chiefs last Friday at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi came to an agreement with the two royal families.
The two royal families who have been travelling to the Manhyia Palace for the past decade also gladly accepted the peace deal brokered by the Asantehene and the two other personalities.
Now that an agreement has been reached between the two parties, the final funeral rites for the two late Dagbon Kings from both royal families will now take place.
The Abudus would be given access to the Gbewa Palace to perform the final funeral rites for the late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV who died in 1989 will start on December 14, 2018, and end on December 28 2018.
When they are done, they will leave the Palace peacefully for the Andanis to also start the final funeral rites of the late Ya Na Yakubu Andani from 4 January 2019 to 18 January 2019.
After the final funeral rites of the two Ya Nas, the Dagon Traditional Area will start the process for the enskinment of a new Ya Na, the Daily Guide reports.
Security is expected to be tight ahead of the funeral rites of the two Ya Nas.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the two other chiefs, Nayiri naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga and Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa I will meet the President, Nana Addo and brief him on the agreement as well as the way forward.
