The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has solved the misunderstanding between the government and the lecturers at the KNUST.
The Asantehene this afternoon has sworn in four new members who are government representatives to the old KNUST Governing Council. The Council now has 15 members.
Speaking at the event, Otumfuo expressed his sadness with the recent events that happened on KNUST saying: “It is a pain I do not bear likely.”
Also, he indicated he will set up an independent committee to investigate the riot that has resulted in an estimated ¢1.7 million needed to repair and replace all the damaged school properties.
The school was closed down on October 22, 2018, after a demonstration turned violent.
After the swearing in of the new members to the school’s Governing Council, the Asantehene has also ordered for the reopening this week and for classes to resume on Monday.
