The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has promised the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) that he will help them get a vast land to build an industrial park.
Baffour Kantankrakyi who spoke on behalf of the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace said: “he [Asantehene] will not let such a good project go waste” so he will help them to get a land to build the industries to help develop Asanteman and Ghana at large.
Also, he promised AGI that he will make sure all his chiefs will give them land to build the park.
Opemsuo also told them that if they find any land that they think is suitable for the industrial park, they should let him know and he will give it to them.
He also thanked AGI for their nice idea and how happy he is willing to help them.
The Asantehene made the promised after members of AGI paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace today to congratulate him on his 20th anniversary as the King of Asanteman.
Dr Yaw Adu Gyamfi, President of AGI asked the Asantehene to help them secure land so that they can build an industrial park in Asanteman.
Dr Gyamfi told the Asantehene that most of the top businesses in Accra are owned by Asantes but due to the unavailability of lands, they are unable to bring their companies home.
