Obuasi Ashanti Gold has beaten their regional rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko to win the maiden edition of the B.K Adusei Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Ash Gold won the cup by beating Kotoko 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in 90 minutes.
Kofi Nkrumah scored the winning penalty for Ash Gold after Kotoko’s Richard Arthur and Didi Arnold missed their penalties for Kotoko while Ash Gold’s Kwadwo Amoako had his saved by Felix Annan.
Kotoko will play their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak in the President’s Cup at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after which they will play Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the CAF Champions League.
