Ashanti Gold SC will on Saturday, 24 August host Equatorial Guinea club, Akonangui at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Two weeks ago, Ash Gold travel to Equatorial Guinea to play the first leg of the two-legged game. But things did not go the way the West African club expected when they went there.
According to reports, officials of Akonangui deliberately did not show up when they got Equatorial Guinea. According to the report, Akonangui tried to frustrate the Ash Gold by not picking them at the airport, failing to give them a proper pitch to train, among other things. Unluckily for them, the game ended one all and Ash Gold even scored the first goal.
Ash Gold, however, has decided not to use an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth principle. Instead, the 1997 CAF Champions League finalist will welcome their opponents with open arms to let them enjoy the Ghanaian hospitality.
