The Ashanti Regional Minister, last week threatened to sue Sika FM over comments made about him during the stations afternoon political show called The Point.
During the program, a panellist who works for the station stated that it is alleged that the Regional Minister might be replaced.
The Regional Minister who was listening to the program called to tell his side of the story. After telling his side of the story he demanded that the panellist apologize to him. The panellist, however, maintained that he will not apologize to him as it is an ‘alleged’ story.
Simon Osei-Mensah went to the radio station to demand the tape and sue the station.
The management of the station, however, was able to talk to him about his decision to go to court.
The minister, according to Alhassan Okogeabo who is the host of The Point, said if they do not want to give him the tape he will let his lawyers go to the court for a warrant and come for the tape.
Okogeabo who confirmed the story told Fox FM that the Minister did not come to their station with five bodyguards as the rumours were.
He added that the minister’s bodyguard and his driver were even outside and nowhere near them.
Okogeabo also said that the minister told them that ‘since he became a minister, some people have been insulting him and he wants an end to that.’
