The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has criticized the government over the handling of the KNUST incident.
According to him, the government should have given KNUST “academic freedom” to solve the issue instead of intervening.
“The government should have allowed the university to handle the issue.”
“The government is interested in intervening in the affairs of the autonomous institutions in the country,” he said on Angel FM.
Asiedu Nketiah criticized how the ministers and other party members involved themselves in the matter when the school has a Chancellor.
He also criticized how the government rushed to dissolve the University Council and later reinstated it after the Asantehene intervened.
