The newly appointed Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Asomah Cheremeh has promised to protect the country’s forest from illegal activities.
The former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister in an interview on Kumasi based Angel FM stated that all the agencies under his ministry will work together to protect our forests and natural resources.
“I am not going to sit down and watch people do galamsey”.
Moreover, he indicated he and his ministry will fight against illegal lumbering in the country. The illegal lumbering, he said, does not only affect the forests but also affects the country in terms of tax collection.
He went on to explain that he has held a meeting with stakeholders and MCEs and they have all come to the conclusion that they will work together and use the law to do their work.
Asomah Cheremeh said he has a plan for fight galamsey which he will not reveal but when he starts executing it, Ghanaians will clap for him.
