The Queen of Atebubu traditional area, Nana Afua Donyina has asked voters to vote for the creation of the Brong East Region.
She has asked those who will be celebrating the Christmas away from home to come home and vote so that the young ones will be happy in the future.
‘I beg all men, women, chiefs and queens, children and everyone to vote’ yes.
The creation of the new region is part of governments promise to divide some regions to foster development across the country.
Techiman, Wenchi, Atebutu, Kwame Danso and other towns will all be under Brong East should it be created.
In terms of development, those pushing for the creation of the region believe it their areas under the region will easily develop as the region is endowed with natural resources.
The region will benefit from the gold deposit at Anyinam and the diamond at Masie.
Also, the Techiman and Kintampo markets which are among the popular markets in the country will provide goods and services for the region.
Apart from the Brong East region, the Nothern Region, Western Region and Volta Region will also be divided.
