Gabon and Arsenal star, Pierre-Emerick Emiliano François Aubameyang has revealed he is Ghanaian by descent.
Aubameyang made the revelation when he was asked about his new teammate, Ghana’s Thomas Partey during the press conference for their weekend’s Premier League game against Leicester City.
‘My family is from Gabon but I also have some roots in Ghana where Thomas is from so we are family too,’ he said.
“It is good for some of our younger players as well to have a player like him, of his calibre at training. They will learn a lot from him.”
The 31-year old has played 63 times for his country and scored 25 goals.
His father, Pierre-Francois Aubameyang was a midfielder and was the captain of the national team Gabon national team.
However, the former Dortmund star did not reveal which of his parents has Ghanaian roots as his mother is from Spain.
