The National Sports Authority has in a press release debunked the reports that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium has been rejected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) from hosting CAF and FIFA Category A matches.
Two days ago, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) reported that the stadium does not meet CAF’s requirements, therefore, the stadium would not be able to host category A games which includes the 2023 AFCON qualifying games which would start in May.
However, the NSA said CAF only approved the stadium to host the World Cup qualifying game between Ghana and Nigeria and they are waiting for CAF’s inspection team to inspect the stadium again.
