Barcelona have completed the signing of Sergio Aguero on a free transfer, following the end of his contract with Manchester City.
The 32-year-old, who turns 33 on June 2, has put pen to paper on a contract until 2023, and the deal includes a release clause of 100 million euros.
Aguero travelled to Barcelona following Manchester City’s Champions League final defeat against Chelsea, as he underwent his medical this Monday morning before signing his contract with Barcelona.
Joan Laporta has therefore secured the signature of the Premier League’s record foreign goalscorer, although Aguero has struggled with injuries in the last couple of years. In the 2020/21 campaign, he made 20 appearances and scored six goals.
