Reports from Mampongten Health Center in the Ashanti Region indicates the hospital has been taken over by bed bugs.
According to reports gathered, patients who have been admitted at the hospital have been complaining about the incidents for a long time.
Though the management of the hospital has been doing their best to make the hospital bed bugs-free, their efforts have proven futile.
The Centre has built a new block which will be opened soon for the patients to be taken there but it is not clear when it will be opened.
Speaking to Kessben FM, a man said he saw the bed bugs when he was admitted at the hospital last week Wednesday. The man who gave his name as Solomon said his wife got angry when she also saw the bed bugs on the mattress he was supposed to sleep on.
He added, he told the doctor and nurses he cannot sleep on the bed because of the bed bugs.
However, he received his treatment while sitting on the bed.
Solomon said he before he left the hospital, he started feeling the bed bugs all over his body.
‘When I got home, I undressed outside before entering my room,’ he added.
