It appears that Africa may soon have the opportunity to witness Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated “Renaissance” world tour. According to sources, the pop star is considering bringing the show to Ghana. An insider informed metro.co.uk that “these dates only form part of the experience and there are talks to see if a more family-friendly version of her show can be taken to Ghana.” The source also noted that Live Nation, Beyoncé’s concert promoter, is eager to bring its acts to new markets and is hoping that the pop star will lead the way, but the challenge will be finding the right venue and local partners.
The “Renaissance” tour was recently announced and will take place in several cities in Europe and North America, including London, Cardiff, Stockholm, Toronto, Las Vegas, Miami, and Houston. The tour will feature performances of Beyoncé’s latest album of the same name. While she recently performed in Dubai, fans were disappointed that she did not perform any new tracks from the album.
Despite her popularity in Africa, Beyoncé’s tour legs typically consist of the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, leaving many of her African fans feeling left out. However, her fanbase in Ghana has grown significantly since she collaborated with Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale on the song “Already,” which was released on her “Lion King: The Gift” album in 2019.
Fans in Africa will be eagerly waiting to hear more details about the possibility of Beyoncé bringing her “Renaissance” tour to their shores.
