Black Stars: Wakaso’s inclusion, Duncan’s exclusion shock Ghanaians

Ghanaians have been shocked by the inclusion of Mubarak Wakaso’s and the exclusion of Alfred Duncan from the Black Stars squad for the AFCON 2023 qualifiers.

Wakaso has not played active football for months while Duncan has been playing actively for Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A.

In the just ended season, Duncan scored 2 goals, gave two assists in 33 games in the Serie A. Wakaso, on the other hand, has not played football since late 2021.

After the Ghana Football Association released the list for the AFCON qualifiers, Ghanaians on Twitter questioned why Wakaso was included in the squad.

While others are questioning why Wakaso was chosen over Duncan, others also believe Wakaso’s inclusion is a disrespect to those who play in the Ghana Premier League.
