The Ghana Football Association has written to inform the Ministry of Sports of their decision to let the Black Star players camp in Europe to prepare for the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying games.
The African qualifiers were supposed to begin in June 2021, however, the continent’s football governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the games would be played in September due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.
The GFA, on the other hand, believes it would be good for the national team to camp in Europe and prepare for the games which would be played in Africa from September to November 2021.
Ghana will play Ethiopia on 1 September in Ghana and play South Africa four days later in South Africa.
Both home and away games with Zimbabwe will be played in October while the final two games against Ethiopia and South Africa will be played in November.
