Kurt Okraku has won the GFA Elections to become the new GFA elections.
Okraku won 44 out of 118 votes in the first round of the election when many people were expecting George Afriyie to win or at least lead in the first round.
George Afriyie got 40 of the votes in the first round while Nana Amponsah came third with 27 votes.
In the second round, Okraku got 59 representing 50% of the votes while Afriyie and Amponsah got 43 and 16 votes respectively.
The election was expected to go to a third round, however, George Afriyie came on stage to throw in the towel saying he’s a “unifier” and wants Kurt Okraku to lead the football association “in the interest of football.”
But before he was crowned the winner of the election, the Chairman of the Normalization Committee, Kofi Amoah said Okraku had to go unopposed for the delegates to vote either Yes or No and must also get 50% plus one of the total votes.
After the Yes or No vote, Kurt E.S Okraku got 93 of the total votes.
