The Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh has denied rumours that is behind the reason why MCE nominee, Martin Owusu Adjei lost the election.
In an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, the MP stated that all the rumours and allegation by the NPP Secretary for Berekum West are false.
“All the constituencies in Brong Ahafo has had their elections and it is left with only Berekum West”.
According to him, he does not have any ill-feeling towards Martin Owusu and does not understand why he is being accused.

Also, the 12 votes he got is so low that he cannot request for him to vote on again.
Asomah-Cheremeh also said he has only met Martin Owusu Adjei twice and when he came to tell him about his nomination, he advised him and told him to talk to each Assembly member as they are not many.
Martin Owusu Adjei, on the other hand, did contrary to the advice he gave him and some Assembly members voted against him.
He compared the situation to other constituencies and asked if the Regional Ministers in those regions were the ones who intervened to make those candidates lose their election.
“I do not have any candidate in that area”, he said. Moreover, he also said he cannot work against someone appointed by the President to work on his behalf.
Martin Owusu lost the election to become the MCE for Berekum West after he got 12 votes out of 27.
After losing the election, he came out to say he paid each Assembly member ₵2000 after they promised to vote for him yet they did the opposite.
Since he made the revelation, some Assembly members have returned the money they took from him.
