The news of C.K Akonnor’s sacking as the head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has come as surprise to the fans of the club and football fans as well.
In what some people first thought was a joke, turned out to be true. C.K, according to reports was asked to step aside as the coach of Kotoko and take the role of the Technical Director of the club.
“In a meeting, I was told this. I am even in Accra now,” he said on Oyerepa FM.
According to the report, the former Black Stars captain rejected the position and asked why the management want him to step aside.
As at now, no reason has been given as to why he was asked to step aside.
C.K took over as the head coach of Kotoko in October last year after signing a three-year contract and led the club to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in years.
He led the team to win the Normalization Special Competition Tier 1 Cup after beating Karela at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
After he signed the contract, the club stated that he has been tasked build a team and win a continental trophy in his third year.
However, after the table turned some fans took to social media to say what is on their mind.
