The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has given the green light for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to host the Black Stars’ match against Angola. This game will be the first leg of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, scheduled for Thursday, March 23, 2023.
This will be the second time the venue will be hosting a Black Stars match after its renovation. The stadium previously hosted Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
The reserve fixture between the two teams will take place four days later in Luanda.
Currently, Ghana and Angola are tied with four points each in the group after two games. The upcoming match will be crucial for both teams as they aim to secure a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana began their qualifiers with a 3-0 win over Madagascar before settling for a 1-1 draw against Central African Republic.
With the approval of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Black Stars will have home advantage as they face Angola in what is expected to be a highly competitive match.
