Ghanaian champions, Asante Kotoko has beaten the champions of Burkina Faso in the first leg of the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League at the General Mathieu Kerekou Stadium in Benin.
Asante Kotoko dominated the game but they had to wait till added time before hitting the back of the net through Isaac Oppong as they squared all their chances.
In the 10th minute, Mfegue had the chance to put his side ahead but his shot went wide.
In the 18th minute, Mfegue got another chance to score but he missed it again.
Richmond Lamptey was substituted in the 61st minute after he sustained an injury and he was replaced by new signing, Osei Bonsu.
Boateng, who came on in the 76th minute for Steve Mukwala, in the 80th minute missed a chance to score when he could have even passed the ball to his teammate for a tap-in goal.
Oppong found space in Kadiogo’s penalty box and slotted the ball in the net in the last minute.
