The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has made a new rule that would allow a game to go on should a club have less than 15 players available.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CAF allowed clubs to register 40 players for the Champions League and Confederation Cup and made a rule that a match would go on if only a team has at least 15 players who have tested negative for Coronavirus.
Some clubs, however, have been eliminated from the Champions League and Confederation Cup after failing to raise a team as some players tested positive for the virus.
With the new rule, if a club has 11 players who have tested negative for Coronavirus, a match would go on. Should a goalkeeper test positive for the virus, an outfield player can replace him in the post.
Per the old rule, should a club fail to have at least 15 players for a game, their opponent would be declared the winner.
