Africa’s leading music streaming and download platform, Boomplay, has released its annual report on music consumption, providing insights into the platform’s data for the year 2023. The report, tagged #BoomplayRecap2023, is divided into three segments focusing on country, artist, and user insights.

In 2023, Boomplay’s catalog expanded to 120 million songs, featuring over 10 million artists and 7,500 content providers. The most popular music genres on the platform during the year included Afrofusion, Afrobeats, Amapiano, Gospel, Gengentone, and Hip-Hop & Rap.
