A policeman [name witheld] has been beaten by a traditional leader at Wassa-Abresia at Amentifi Municipal Assembly in the Western Region.
Nana Kumi, the Odikro for the area, according to the report parked his car in front of the charge office at the police station in the area.
His car made it difficult for people and cars to move and the policeman told him to park his car the right way.
Nana Kumi did not listen to the policeman and another policeman, Lance Corporal Evans Peprah told him to do what his boss is saying.
Nana Kumi got angry and while the policemen were trying to tell him to do the right thing he slapped the policeman.
Nana Kumi with the help of other policemen resisted arrest and was able to escape.
He later went to the police station with some macho men and attacked the policeman again. The policeman was rushed to Wassa Abresia Government Hospital for medical treatment.
The issue was reported to both the traditional and police authorities they met at Asankragua to solve it.
The police authorities told the assaulted policeman and his witnesses that they have “concocted” the story to disgrace the Nana Kumi.
Nana Kumi has been bailed after he was arrested by the police at Wassa-Abresia.
