Child prostitution on the rise at Odumase Obuasi

Reports from Odumase Obuasi indicate there has been an increase in child prostitution.

It is not clear as to what has actually caused made young girls to indulge in prostitution but according to them, they have no other choice than to indulge in the practice because their parents are unable to take care of them.

Although education is free in the country, some of the teenagers insist they had to quit school since their parents cannot support them in school.

The teenagers also indicated that they sleep with men and sometimes charge them as low as GHC 5.

It is yet to be established whether they are saying the truth or it’s the other way round.
