Men who are living at Jacobu in the Ashanti Region are complaining about the rate at which Chinese illegal miners are snatching their wives and girlfriends from them.
According to the men, the reason why the Chinese men find it easy to snatch their girls from them is due to the high unemployment in the area.
The Chinese men, according to the men, use their money to lure their women.
“I travelled for a short period and when I came back, my girlfriend was dating a Chinese man”, one man said.
“It is not because we cannot satisfy them sexually”, he said.
“The Chinese men are rich so even when you see your woman with the Chinese man, you will know she is doing it for the money”.
The women also confirmed this but also said if the Ghanaian men are able to get jobs, they will not follow the Chinese men again.
However, the women also said they find it difficult to identify the Chinese men they are dating as they lookalike.
