Chris Hughton, according to Oyerepa FM’s sports journalist Baffour Awuah, is likely to reject the role the Ghana Football Association will offer him.
According to the report, the FA wants to make Otto Addo who led the technical team to play the World Cup playoff against Nigeria the head coach. Meanwhile, Hughton was reportedly told he would become the headcoach of the Black Stars after the World Cup playoff but things seem to have changed after Ghana qualified for the tournament.

The FA want Hughton to remain as the Technical Advisor to the technical team but the former Newcastle coach does not like the idea.
Before he was announced as the Technical Advisor, Hughton reportedly worked behind the scenes to convince Tariq Lamptey and Calum Hudson-Odoi to play for the Black Stars as he was convinced he would become the new coach of the four-time African champions.

There have been reports in the media that the GFA president, Kurt Okraku will be meeting with Hughton to convince him to continue as the Technical Advisor but Okraku has through a post on his Facebook post denied the report.
“Rumour mongering is becoming the order of the day in footbal…Just to be clear, i do not have a scheduled meeting with Chris Hughton.. The FA, having assesed the workd of the technical team of the Black stars, and having endaged all relevant stakeholders, is working to keep Otto, Didi, George and Chris in their respective roles for all immediate assignments..
Offical announcment expected shortly….Other need areas of the technical team that the Coach has identified is being addressed” Okraku wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Awuah, Hughton has received offers from other clubs and should he be interested in any of the offers, he would reject the Technical Advisor role and return to the dugout.
