After it was announced that two people Coronavirus in Ghana, the demand for sanitizers increased as doctors advised that people should use hand sanitizers to wash their hands.
However, some people rather chose to buy the popular Ghanaian local gin, Akpeteshie as the demand for sanitizers led to a shortage of the product.
According to them, they have been told the sanitizer they have to buy must contain at least 60% alcohol and since the gin has more of it, believe it is the right ‘sanitizer’ to buy.
Currently, three people have the virus and they have all been quarantined.
Ghana joined Gabon, Kenya, Egypt, South Africa, Algeria, Togo, Cameroon and a few other African countries with confirmed cases while Nigeria is now free of the virus as the last patient got cured.
