For over a year, the government of Ghana, as well as, Ghanaians, in general, have been up against the abuse of the drug Tramadol.
As a result, some people especially, students have been able to find a substitute for Tramadol since the crackdown on the drug is getting higher and higher.
According to reports, the students put toffees with mint in them into energy drink and drink it when the toffee melts.
This mixture is believed to make them feel like they have taken Tramadol.
Also, some of the students have been taking cough mixtures without doctors’ prescription to get ‘high’.
Some of the students who do not use either of the above mix ‘weed and shito’ and add it to the food they eat.
The abuse of the drug Tramadol shocked Ghanaians when it was made known to the general public.
Till now, it is not known exactly what, how or who started to teach the young men in the country how to use tramadol to get high.
Although the fight against the abuse of the drug is still on, some young men still find ways and means to get hold of them and use it without doctor’s orders.
While others believe it is due to bad parenting, others blame this problem on the high unemployment in the country.
