Couple arrested for making and selling weed toffees after police went to their house to arrest them for a different offence

A 39-year old man, Dodji Addo and his 28-year old wife, Doris Anoma have been arrested by the police for selling toffees made with weed.

According to the report, the couple was arrested after a woman, Esther Addo reported them to the police at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region for beating her.

According to the report, when the police went to the couple’s house to arrest them, the found some substance suspected to be weed and toffees suspected to have been mixed with weed.

The couple confessed to the police that the toffees are made with weed and the leaves they found were also weed.

They two were arraigned before the court and they have been sentenced to 10 months in prison.
