Accra Hearts of Oak head coach Kosta Papic has revealed he did contact Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo to join his side but refused the offer.
Papic following a series of goal drought has not shied away from the need to solve the club’s goal scoring problem during the transfer window.
According to Papic, he contacted the five-time Balon d’Or holder to join the Phobians but the player declined the offer.
Ronaldo joined the Old Ladies (Juventus) in 2018 from Real Madrid and has scored 68 goals out of 81 appearances.
Papic also expressed his interest in getting six time balon d’or holder and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi but admits it would be an impossibility.
Speaking in an interview with Nhyira FM, the Serbian tactician said:
“I want Messi, but unfortunately he is not available and I tried Ronaldo and he told me he cannot come.”
Lionel Messi’s four-year contract with FC Barcelona is worth €555.2 million ($673.8m), according to a report by Spanish newspaper, El Mundo.
