There have been rumours that Real Madrid wanted to sign PSG main man, Neymar Jr the league ended.
According to the reports, Madrid wanted to sign him to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who left for Juventus.
But now it has been revealed that Neymar was not the player Madrid really wanted to sign. Though they would have welcomed him to the Santiago Bernabeu, a new report indicates he was not on top of the list.
Madrid has always been known for signing world class players but for the past nine years, they have not been able to sign any Galactico; the last one being Cristiano Ronaldo after signing Kaka from AC Milan.
Forget about Neymar’s move to Real Madrid-these are the players Madrid wanted to replace Ronaldo.
Harry Kane
It has been revealed the player Madrid really wanted to sign is England and Tottenham striker, Harry Kane. Kane has won the golden boot in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons and ended his first World Cup with the golden boot too. Last season he scored in both home and away games against Real Madrid in the Champions’ League group stage.
Mohammed Salah
The next player on Madrid’s Galactico list was Liverpool’s winger Mohammed Salah. Salah’s return to the Premier League has been exceptional for him. The former Chelsea player struggled to play in the Premier League and was sent on loan to Fiorentina before being sold to AS Roma. He won the golden boot in the Premier League last season, as well as, the Player of the Season.
Eden Hazard
Hazard to Real Madrid is not new to any football lover. On numerous occasions, there have been rumours that the Belgian will sign for the Spanish giants.
The Belgian captain has been offered a new contract at Stanford Bridge with the club’s captaincy included in the contract.
Madrid had to give up on their interest in these players after none of the clubs was ready to listen to Madrid’s offers.
