The Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei has, according to report, decided not to pre-finance the club any longer.
The business mogul, since he was given the club by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II four years ago has been pre-financing the club.
However, Dr Kyei has made up his mind not to pay for the club’s debt in advance as he is not happy with how the fans insult him.
The decision by Dr Kyei, according to the report, is the reason why the players have not been paid their salary for two months, as well as, not been paid their winning bonus since beating Hearts of Oak on matchday six of the Ghanaian Premier League.
Kotoko currently lies on the 3rd position on the Ghanaian Premier League and are facing a possible demotion to the Division One should the club fail to pay Esperance the $180, 000 it owes them.
Moreover, the club is also paying their former coach, C.K Akonnor over ₵144, 000 for wrongful dismissal and has also been ordered to compensate Akonnor’s successor, Kjetil Zachariassen $12, 435 for sacking him.
