The Executive Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei is using his own money to finance the club as the sponsorship monies are not enough to manage the club, The Post understands.
According to the report Kotoko’s two main sponsors, MTN and Goil have not given the club any money for months.
With their deal with MTN, the telecommunication giants have even written official to the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to inform them that they want to give them ¢25, 000 a month which is half of the amount they agreed to pay Kotoko to sponsor them.

The decision by MTN to give them half of the sponsorship money is due to the suspension of the of football activities in the country.
As a result, Dr Kwame Kyei now has pay the players, as well as, everything that has got to do with the management of the club from his own coffers.
Apart from MTN and Goil, Kotoko has a deal with Hollard Insurance and Paradise Pac Mineral Water.
