Dr Kyei gave Kotoko players money to beat Elmina Sharks and save King Faisal – report

The Board Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Dr Kwame Kyei according to a report by Light FM in Kumasi gave the Kotoko players money to beat Elmina Sharks in other to save their city rivals, King Faisal from being relegated.  

According to the report, Dr Kyei did not want King Faisal to be relegated so he gave the team GH₵20,000 to win their last game in other for King Faisal to remain in the league. Also, he was not happy that the team had not won a game after losing 1-0 to Accra Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash.  

Kotoko ended up losing 1-0 to Sharks while Faisal’s goalless draw with Liberty saved them from being relegated.
