Residents of Juaso in the Ashanti Region this week got a message from dwarfs in the area.
It all started when a 65-year old woman called Akua Donkor went missing in a forest at Juaso. Madam Akua Donkor left home with a loaf of bread and her dog to her farm on Monday.
When her family realized that she has not returned from her farm, they gathered people to look for her.
When they got to her farm, the search party found her bread and other items she left home with but could not find her anywhere on the farm.
The following day, when some residents in the community were on their way to go and look for her, they got the message that Akua Donkor has been seen coming from the forest.
Akua Donkor was taken to the Chief palace to find out exactly what happened to her and it was at the palace that she told those who had gathered there that she was with dwarfs in the forest.
According to Akua Donkor, she decided to go and uproot cassava but realized that she kept returning to the same place over and over again.
She saw her family members calling her but she realized they could not see or hear her.
Later, she saw the dwarfs around her asking who she is. The 65-year old woman said she told them her ‘name is Akua Donkor and she is a farmer’.
The Dwarfs, she said, told her they have not seen a human being with so many people looking for her in the forest before.
When the dwarfs saw that she was hungry, they plucked some leaves from a tree and gave it her to eat and also plucked some other leaves and told her to use them to bath when she gets home.
But most importantly, she should tell the residents of Juaso that they should not enter the forest on Tuesday and Wednesday because Wednesday is “Awukudae”.
She posited they told her humans are not allowed in the forest on those days that’s the reason why they are letting her go.
The Chief and his elders’ poured libation to the gods for the safe return of the 65-year old woman.
