The Ejisu – Abankro road which was reconstructed during the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration has become a death trap for users of the road.
Although the road linking Ejisu and Abankro is more than 5 km, less than that was constructed. The road, which was reconstructed from Ejisu Taxi station to Spiritan University College took more than 2 years to complete.
Since its completion in December 2016, it took less than 4 months for the road to develop potholes.
Drivers who use the road have to dodge the potholes making putting the lives of pedestrians in danger as well as that of the drivers and their passengers. Apart from the residents, the road which links the two towns is mainly plied by Ejisuman Senior High School, Ejisu Model School, Spiritan University College and Deeper Life International School students.
According to our source, the project was done by the MP for the area, Owusu Aduomi, who is also the current Deputy Minister for Roads and Highway.
Until recently that 2 were used to fill the potholes, 4 heaps of sand were left in the road posing more danger to drivers and pedestrians. The newly constructed road is in a deplorable state to the extent that some students of Ejisuman Senior High School some time ago, had to leave school to fill the potholes.
Residents are calling on the Ministry for Roads and Highway to come and fix the road in other to prevent any unfortunate incident from happening.
