England’s U21 all-time topscorer, Edward Nketiah is reportedly close to switching nationality to play for Ghana.
Born in England to Ghanaian parents, Nketiah has represented the country of his birth at U18, U19 and U21 levels.
In 2020, he broke English legend Alan Shearer’s record at the U21 level after scoring 16 goals in 17 games as they qualified for the Euro U21 Championship.

The 22-year-old Arsenal striker, however, is yet to make his debut for the English national team.
According to the report, the Ghana Football Association has been in contact with his parents and the process for the nationality switch is ongoing.
