Essien losses over 1 million followers on Twitter after supporting LGBT in Ghana

Former Ghanaian footballer, Michael Essien has lost over 1 million followers on Twitter after posting a post on Instagram in support of LGBT in Ghana.

The former Chelsea, AC Milan, Lyon and Real Madrid star is currently facing public backlash for the post which he has deleted.

Before the post, Essien has over 1.7 million followers on Twitter but after the post, he now has 688,177 followers.

Essien gave his support to the LGBT community after the government ordered the security forces to close down the LGBT office in Kwabenya last month.
