Asante Kotoko attacker Franck Mbella Thierry Etouga is three goals away from equaling Opoku Afriyie’s record at the club.
Afriyie became Asante Kotoko’s highest scorer in a single season with 26 goals in 1979. Two years later in 1981, he scored 21 goals to become the second-highest scorer in a season.
Etouga who has currently scored 18 goals this season has overtaken Eric Bekoe, Alex Asamoah and Thomas Boakye on Kotoko’s goal scorers chart. Bekoe scored 17 goals in the 2007/2008 season, Alex Asamoah scored 16 goals in the 2008/2009 season and Thomas Boakye scored 12 goals in the 1990/1991 season.

With a seven games left and Etouga’s impressive goal scoring record at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Cameroonian can equal Opoku Afriyie’s record.
