Asante Kotoko striker, Franck Thierry Mbella Etouga is close to breaking two records after scoring his 20th goal of the season today against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League as they won 2-0. The win is Kotoko’s first win at Medeama’s homeground in years.
Etouga broke Eric Bekoe’s 17 goals in a season goal record and he is now a goal away from equaling Kotoko legend, Opoku Afriyie’s 21 goals in a season record.

Opoku Afriyie is Kotoko’s all-time leading top scorer in a season with 26 goals in the 1979 season and 21 goals in the 1981 season.
The Cameroonian is now a goal away from equalling and setting a new record in his first season.
Etouga is also two goals away from equalling Accra Hearts of Oak legend Ishmael Addo’s 22 goals in a season record.
With four games left, Etouga needs three goals to become the all time top scorer in a season in the Ghana Premier League.
