The founder of United Progressive Party, Akwasi ‘Odike’ Addae has said he will let every Ghanaian become undergo police or military training when he becomes the president.
According to the politician cum businessman, “the difference between the police or the military and the civilians is their training.”
“Personal security is the most important thing in everyone’s life followed by national security,” he said on Angel FM in Kumasi.
“Every Ghanaian must become a policeman; every Ghanaian must become a soldier.”
According to him, this will enable people to know how to protect themselves, therefore, when he is voted into power, he will make sure “security cautiousness” becomes part of the “school curriculum”.
He explained that this will reduce or eliminate fear and “panic” among the citizens and it will improve the country’s security.
Using Germany as an example, he added that the country has been doing it for years and since it has helped the country, Ghana should also adopt the policy.
