Fabio Gama dos Santos, the Brazilian midfielder, is considering an unexpected return to Ghana’s top-tier football scene after concluding his tenure with Bahrain’s Busaiteen Club.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder finds himself without a club following the conclusion of his contract with Busaiteen Club in the Bahraini Second Division League.
Reports suggest that Gama, who earned a significant following during his time at Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has set his sights on Ghana as a potential destination for a comeback with the Porcupine Warriors.
Barring unforeseen developments, the adept left-footed player is expected to sign with a team in the Ghana Premier League before the transfer window closes.
In 2020, Gama joined Asante Kotoko, sparking a revival in his career. He quickly earned a reputation as one of the most captivating footballers and playmakers in the league during his two-year spell.
His debut for the team took place as a substitute in the 83rd minute during a 1–1 draw against Medeama on December 27, 2021.
Gama played a pivotal role in the squad that clinched victory in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League. He departed the team in July 2022 following the expiration of his contract with Asante Kotoko.
Subsequently, Gama ventured to the Middle East, initially signing with Al Muharraq SC in the Bahraini Premier League as a free agent for a one-year term. He later moved to Busaiteen Club on a short-term basis, where his contract eventually came to an end.
