Former President, John Dramani Mahama has reacted to the news that he will be contesting for the NDC primaries in December this year.
Earlier today, a statement believed to have been signed by the former President went viral on social media claiming the former President will be contesting in the primaries.
Mahama, took to his social media page to tag the statement as “fake” with the caption “declaring for the declarant?”

In the fake statement that was released by an unknown source, it stated “with renewed strength of commitment to the principles of probity, accountability and social justice acquired upon sober reflections and consultations across the rank and file of our great political tradition, I heed to the resounding call to officially declare in all intent and purposes, my willingness, ability and desire to contest as a candidate in the race to lead the NDC ahead of 2020 general elections”.
As it stands now, it is not clear if Mahama will contest or not but according to some NDC members, he is the one they believe can bring victory to the NDC.
