On March 17, 2024, the Nima District Police Command apprehended a young man identified as Hassan Avorgah, aged 24, on several charges including deceiving a public officer, impersonation, and unlawful possession of police accoutrements.
The arrest came after Mr. Hassan purportedly detained an individual and transported them to the Holy Garden Police Station under the guise of being a police officer. However, suspicions arose when he failed to provide accurate credentials verifying his status as a law enforcement officer, ultimately leading to his apprehension.
Upon inspection, Mr. Avorgah was found to be attired in a police camouflage uniform and was in possession of various police accoutrements, including a pair of handcuffs, a taser, a pouch, and two mobile phones.
Subsequently, a search conducted at Mr. Avorgah’s residence in Berlin Bridge, Nima, led to the discovery of additional incriminating items, such as security belts, black police uniforms, a black round hat, a blue-black cardigan, and a picture frame belonging to him.
Mr. Avorgah is currently undergoing legal processing in preparation for his appearance in court to face the charges brought against him.
