While this may seem odd, in the Nzemaland, it is believed that witchcraft is part and parcel of the people as they are sometimes sold in broad daylight.
A family at Nzema in the Western Region is in a dilemma after a mother of seven told his children she is a witch.
The mother (whose name has been withheld) is said to be in her early seventies and has started feeling that she might die soon.
The 72-year old woman called all her seven children who are all successful in life and are living in different parts of the country to come for a family meeting.
At the meeting, the old lady told her children that their source of wealth is not from their hard work but from her protection and the things she has been buying from the spirit world for them. The things she has been buying for them are the blessing of people which their families are selling in the spirit world.
According to the woman, her mother gave her the spirit and told her it is their family property which they have been using to protect the family and make sure all the family members make it in life.
The old woman, then told her children that she might die soon so she wants to give the family spirit to one of her daughters so that she can protect the family wealth.
To the old lady’s shock, none of her four daughters is willing to inherit the family property because they believe in God so she should throw the spirit away.
The spirit, according to the woman is in her waist beads so if they do not want it, she will go and sell it in the spirit world and anyone who buys it can take away all their wealth including those she bought for them which she does not want to happen.
Her female children, The Post has gathered are still adamant they will not inherit the family property while the men in the family are trying to convince their sisters to change their mind so that one of them can inherit the family property.
Now the old woman is in a dilemma as she has to decide whether to sell the family property or find a way to leave it behind for her family.
