Sister Korkor, a 53-year-old trader and farmer, also known as Lydia Addo, was allegedly murdered by a man she introduced as her labourer. According to eyewitnesses, Sister Korkor and the labourer went to the cocoa farm around 3 to 4 p.m. on April 20, 2023. She introduced the man as the new labourer in charge of her farm. However, the two did not return home, and Sister Korkor was later found dead on her farm. The labourer is currently on the run.
The Nhyinahini police are conducting an investigation to apprehend the suspect. The body has been deposited at the Bibiani municipal government mortuary. Assemblymember of the electoral area, Hon. Eric Sarpong Nyantakyi, has asked the police to investigate the matter and bring the offender to book.
According to the Unit Committee Member, John K. Fosu, who was part of the search team, the suspect was a stranger who had only recently moved into the community. He advised residents to always introduce their visitors to them so that they know who they are and what to do in case of an emergency.
Sister Korkor’s neck was slashed with deep cuts, and her body was discovered in a pool of blood. Her death is a terrible incident, and the community is still reeling from the shock. The police are determined to catch the suspect and bring him to justice.
